​Lotte Lawrence, principal

Lotte has more than 25 years’ experience as an interpreter  (Japanese <->  English) and translator (Japanese -> English) across a wide range of fields.

Born in Japan and educated in Australia, Lotte is a bilingual speaker and writer. After graduating in honors (Japanese) from the University of Sydney, Lotte relocated to Japan where she carried out post-graduate research. She then embarked on her current career, working in diverse fields including film and video subtitling, literary translation, technical manuals, general business and corporate translation. 

After 13 years in Japan, she returned to Australia where she established Japanese Language Services.  She has since added the fields of art, fashion, cosmetics, real estate and development, advertising and marketing, and aged care to her repertoire of expert areas of translation.​
 

Lotte has lectured in and taught translation and interpreting at Deakin University, RMIT University and Monash University. She has also been a guest lecturer to students aspiring to be translators and interpreters.
